Description
Celebrate Juneteenth at the Berkeley County Museum with author and musician Eleanor Cooper Brown and quilt artist Peggy Hartwell, our special featured guests! Ms. Brown will be signing copies of her book "From Preparation to Passion, celebrating African-American Sacred Songs and Hymnody." Ms. Hartwell, who is a Recipient of the 2017 Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Award for Narrative Quilting Making, will be displaying several of her "quilted expressions," preserving rural folklife and reflecting her own memory and narrative. If you've not been to the Berkeley County Museum before or are a returning patron, this is an excellent day to join us for a celebration of contemporary African-American heritage and art in celebration of Juneteenth. Masks and social distancing are not required for vaccinated guests but are recommended.
